DESCRIPTION: Texarkana College is seeking a Police Officer.
This is an exempt, 12 month, benefits eligible position,
reporting to the Executive Director of Campus Police and
Public Safety. The purpose of this position is to provide
quality police service that will include maintaining a safe
environment conducive to learning and contributing to the
education process for students as well as to provide for the
safety of students, faculty, staff, and the security of all
campus property.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Protect the real and personal property of
the Campus and maintain the safety of students, staff, and
visitors. Patrol assigned campus and routes walking or driving
within district jurisdiction. Preserve the peace; prevent
unlawful acts, suppress disturbances and provide service, aid,
relief, and information to students, personnel, and visitors.
Collect and preserve evidence for criminal investigations
including witness statements and physical evidence. Assist in
special assignments as requested by supervising officers.
Respond to all calls from campus concerning crisis situations,
accidents, and reports of crime. File appropriate criminal
charges as applicable with the proper agency.
Enforce all laws of both felony and misdemeanor degree in
accordance with the approved procedures and policy. Initiate
investigations when deemed necessary based on sound
information concerning an alleged criminal offense.
Investigate motor vehicle accidents on District property.
Assist staff with after hour functions. Take student(s) into
custody if there are reasonable grounds to believe the
student(s) is engaging in conduct that is in direct violation
of the laws of the State of Texas; file appropriate paperwork
to effect the arrest; transport and complete all jail
procedures. Cooperate and work with other governmental
entities and law enforcement agencies in sharing information
and assistance, consistent with Texarkana College Board Policy
and the Department manual. Write effective legal incident
reports. Testify in court as needed. Help provide traffic
control at campus events, school openings/closings, or at any
other time as needed. Provide protection to escort personnel
as needed. Operate all equipment including firearms according
to established safety procedures. Administer First Aid as
required. Other duties assigned.
REQUIRED SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
General knowledge of criminal investigation, police report
writing, and Texas Penal Code Criminal Laws. Knowledge of
current practices relating to policing, security and public
safety.
REQ UIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
Two years of law enforcement or related experience;
High School diploma or equivalent required, education beyond
high school preferred; Associates degree highly preferred.
Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards &
Education certified; valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
The ability to maintain emotional control under stress;
strenuous walking standing or climbing; operation of a motor
vehicle; directing traffic; control of sudden violent or
extreme physical acts of others; rapid mental and muscular
coordination and response simultaneously. May be subject to
adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent
and armed confrontation. Work is sometimes outdoors in varying
climates and conditions. Ability to fit for duty and on-call
24 hours per day.
SALARY RANGE: Competitive, depending on qualifications and
experience.

Description: Texarkana College is seeking a Kitchen Manager –
Executive Chef. This position reports to the Director of Food
Services. This position exists to oversee operations of the TC
Bistro and catering operation; food preparation, devising
menus, overseeing costs and budgets, liaising with suppliers,
serving customers, supervising kitchen staff and ensuring that
a high level of hygiene, health and safety is maintained.
Responsibilities: Oversee preparation of foodstuffs in time
for service. Supervision of the Bistro and food service
operations and personnel. Catering for small, medium and
large-scale special events. Ordering kitchen supplies,
liaising with suppliers and receiving and checking all food
deliveries. Ensuring the correct storage of supplies and
inventory stock rotation.
Working with the Director on recording expenditure and income
on the food operation. Supervising the kitchen staff and
ensuring they comply with high standards of preparation,
presentation and all aspects of food hygiene. Developing new
ideas for the menu.
Setting and adhering to a daily and weekly cleaning rotation.
Ensuring that a high level of customer service is provided at
all times. Adhering to Health, Hygiene and Safety procedures
at all times. Utilization of cost accounting methods
applicable to food services including portion control,
itemization, and product costs. Collecting data as needed for
analysis of product costs. Manage the billing / invoicing
function. Perform budget monitoring and analysis on a
proactive basis. Manage systematic pricing of items. Represent
TC in a professional manner. Other duties as may be assigned.
Educational Requirements:
Any combination of education, training, and/or experience
which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties. A
typical qualifying background would include graduation from
high school or equivalent and two years recently paid
supervisory experience in the preparation and serving of large
quantities of food. Education beyond high school is preferred;
Associates degree or above is highly preferred.
Work Experience Requirements:
• Two years of supervisory experience
• One year of general work experience in a related food
services field.
